  • 24-08-2026 அன்று சட்டமன்றத்தில் விதி 110-ன் கீழ் முதல்வர் விஜய் விரிவாக்கத்தை அறிவித்தார்.
  • 02-10-2026 (காந்தி ஜெயந்தி) அன்று சென்னை கோயம்பேடு (CMBT) பேருந்து நிலையத்தில் 76B பேருந்தில் இலவசப் பயணச்சீட்டு வழங்கித் தொடங்கி வைத்தார்.
  • விரைவு, எல்.எஸ்.எஸ்., சொகுசு நகரப் பேருந்துகள், புறநகர் சாதாரண மற்றும் மலைப்பாதைப் பேருந்துகளுக்கும் விரிவாக்கம்.
  • பெண்களுடன் திருநங்கையருக்கும் பொருந்தும்; வருமான வரம்பு இல்லை; ஆண்டுச் செலவு சுமார் ரூ.6,000 கோடி.
  • Vidiyal Payanam began in 2021 as one of the first orders signed by CM M.K. Stalin – free travel for women on ordinary town buses.
  • CM Vijay announced the expansion in the Assembly under Rule 110 on 24-08-2026.
  • Launched on 02-10-2026 (Gandhi Jayanti) at CMBT Koyambedu, Chennai, where the CM issued free tickets on route 76B.
  • Extended to Express, LSS and Deluxe city buses, mofussil ordinary and ghat buses.
  • Covers women and transgender persons; no income ceiling; annual cost about Rs 6,000 crore.

Status (2026): The 2021 Vidiyal Payanam scheme was renamed Vettri Payanam and expanded to Express, LSS, Deluxe and mofussil buses from 02-10-2026.
