பொருள்
வானிலை எப்படி இருக்கும் என்பதோடு, அது மக்களுக்கும் இடங்களுக்கும் என்ன செய்யும் என்பதையும் சொல்லும் எச்சரிக்கை.
"150 மி.மீ. மழை" என்று சொல்வதற்குப் பதிலாக, எந்தச் சாலைகள் மூழ்கலாம், எந்தப் பயிர்கள் பாதிக்கப்படலாம், மக்கள் என்ன செய்ய வேண்டும் என்று சொல்வது. எச்சரிக்கைகளை எளிதில் செயல்படுத்த, உலக வானிலை அமைப்பின் வழிகாட்டுதலின்படி IMD இந்த முறைக்கு மாறி வருகிறது.

Meaning
Weather warnings that say what the weather will do to people and places, not only what the weather will be.
Instead of "150 mm of rain", the warning says which roads may flood, which crops are at risk and what people should do. IMD has been moving to this approach, in line with WMO guidance, to make warnings easier to act on.
