Background

  • Agricultural extension carries research results to farmers. MANAGE was set up in 1987 to strengthen the country's extension system and offers training, consultancy, research and policy support. The Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), piloted under the NATP and extended nationwide by the 2005 extension-reforms scheme, works as a registered society at the district level.
  • Agri-Clinics and Agri-Business Centres (ACABC) scheme: MANAGE coordinates free 45-day training for agriculture graduates through Nodal Training Institutes. NABARD channels the subsidy through banks – 36% for the general category and 44% for women, SC/ST and candidates from North-Eastern and hill States.
  • Skilling: MSDE was created in 2014. Its empanelment guidelines for CoE-Skills came out in 2026; empanelment is scheme-agnostic and meant as a long-term association. The Agriculture Ministry said the recognition will help MANAGE expand into skilling.
  • Geography: Hyderabad is the capital of Telangana (formed on 2 June 2014); it stands on the Musi river on the Deccan Plateau.
