Tamil Nadu link: Tamil Nadu's long Bay of Bengal coast matters for BIMSTEC maritime and disaster cooperation. Curbing drug and gold smuggling across the Palk Strait (Rameswaram–Sri Lanka) ties in with the meeting's drug-control plan.
